Official statement of the Company on media speculation related to possible resignation of CEO Sergey Soldatenkov

Moscow, Russia (04 September 2017) — Public Joint Stock Company “MegaFon” (LSE: MFON), a leading Russian provider of integrated digital services (“MegaFon” or “the Company”), comments on recent press speculation regarding possible resignation of its CEO Sergey Soldatenkov.

MegaFon would like to reassure shareholders, investors and other interested parties that reports and media speculations published today in Russian business daily Vedomosti on the possible resignation of the Company’s CEO are inaccurate. Sergey Soldatenkov has the full support of the Board of directors, who have been encouraged by a number of improvements in performance and look forward to Mr. Soldatenkov leading the Company forward in implementation of its 2020 development strategy.

Mr. Streshinsky, Chairman of the Board of directors at MegaFon commented: “Shareholders are satisfied with the Company’s development and support the management and specifically Mr. Sergey Soldatenkov. Competent implementation by the Company’s management of the new strategy made it possible to turn around negative sector trends in 2Q 2017, and the situation in the Company’s business and on the market has shown the first signs of improvement.”

“MegaFon” Demonstrates the First Commercial Gigabit LTE Network in Russia

August 8, 2017. Moscow. MegaFon has showcased the capabilities of Gigabit LTE on a commercial network. The peak data download speed reached 979 Mbps. Nokia Air Scale system module and Sony’ Xperia™ XZ Premium, powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Mobile Platform with X16 LTE, were used in the successful demonstration.
