The level of rating assigned to MegaFon by ACRA reflects the Company’s high creditworthiness compared to other rated entities. The Agency cited MegaFon’s large scale of operations, high profitability, strong business profile, strong liquidity position, and high standards of corporate governance as key positive factors for the rating assessment.
Under Russian regulations, the assigned rating allows MegaFon to continue to access the broadest investor base in the Russian Federation.
Gevork Vermishyan, Chief Financial Officer of MegaFon, commented on the S&P announcement as follows: “We have carried out an intelligent process with ACRA and, as frequent issuer, stay very satisfied with the Agency’s conclusion that MegaFon is one of the top-notch credits in the Russian Federation, a view which is clearly shared by both the Company’s management and our large investor base”.
