MegaFon is awarded the Fastest Mobile Internet in Russia

28 February 2018, Moscow. Ookla® Company, the world leader in testing and analyzing the Internet, presented the award to MegaFon for “The Fastest Mobile Network” at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

MegaFon showed the best figures among all mobile operators according to results of the consumer-initiated Internet access tests taken by Russian users via the Speedtest® by Ookla application in Q2—Q3 2017. The average loading speed detected on devices in Moscow is 40,34 Mb/s, in Saint Petersburg — 26,77 Mb/s, average in Russia — 25,04 Mb/s. For the research Ookla analyzed the data of more than 7 900 000 tests via all networks of all operators in Russia from more than 1 200 000 devices with LTE support.

Maximum acceleration: New route between Moscow and Frankfurt

5 July, 2018, Moscow. In cooperation with other telecommunication operators, MegaFon has launched a new overland route between Moscow and Frankfurt via Belarus. It has a length of 3,200 km and an initial throughput capacity of 1.7 Tbit/s.
