LTE Devices Generated Two Thirds Of All MegaFon Data Traffic At Eastern Economic Forum

More than 2 TB of mobile data were sent and received on MegaFon’s network at the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok on 2 — 3 September. More than 70% of this traffic used MegaFon’s 4G+/LTE network. Guests at the forum, which attracted 3,300 visitors from almost 60 countries, spoke for more than 3,800 hours on the operator’s mobile network over the two days.

The companies were also the first on the Russian market to demonstrate the use of an integrated solution for the Internet of Things based on the new NB-IoT (Narrow Band IoT) cellular standard, using which the operator can capture new markets and attract new IoT clients.

SAP CIS and MegaFon sign memorandum on first implementation at Russian company of next generation it system

SAP CIS, the leader on the enterprise applications market, and leading Russian telecommunications company MegaFon have signed a memorandum on strategic partnership envisaging the first implementation in Russia of the cutting edge SAP S4/HANA IT system. The cost of system implementation, including acquisition and installation, which will also involve replacing server equipment, will be approximately 1.5 billion rubles over three years.
