Alexander Sobolev has taken the position of Managing Director for Strategy & Organizational Development. Valentina Vatrak has become Corporate Development and Human Resources Director. Earlier this position was held by Irina Likhova, who has left the Company.

Voting at an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on 19 January 2018, as earlier reported at: http://corp.megafon.com/investors/news/capital_market_releases/20180122-1049.html, approved Natalya Chumachenko as a member of the Board of Directors of MegaFon. As a result, Natalya has left the Company. Alexander Sobolev, who earlier served as Strategy Director, will continue to be responsible for strategy and transformation projects in the role of Managing Director, reporting directly to the CEO.

Irina Likhova has decided to leave the Company. MegaFon’s management values Irina’s contribution to development of the HR function over her time as Corporate Development and Human Resources Director. Under her leadership, corporate values were introduced and strategic HR priorities were identified: the Expert Track was launched with the aim of developing and retaining staff, major work was completed to position MegaFon as a best employer, the process of digital transformation of the HR function of the Company was begun and the recognition system was greatly improved, namely project-based bonuses were introduced and the long-term bonus program was renewed.

MegaFon CEO Sergey Soldatenkov commented: “Over their time at the company, Natalya Chumachenko and Irina Likhova have proven themselves to be professionals of the highest caliber. Natalya made a major contribution to development of the Company’s new digital strategy, implemented commercial transformation projects, including formation of the product range and strategy, and successfully worked on strengthening the brand. As for Irina, I genuinely believe the HR is a function that permeates throughout the entire company and that Irina has been able to take HR to a level that makes it possible to achieve any objectives. On behalf of the whole team, I thank Natalya and Irina for their work and wish them success in their new projects. I am confident that Alexander Sobolev and Valentina Vatrak will support MegaFon’s success and take the new challenges in their stride.”

Alexander Sobolev, who has taken the position of Managing Director for Strategy & Organizational Development, has been in the MegaFon team for more than 7 years and has extensive project and management consulting experience. Alexander’s successful projects have included developing the new corporate strategy presented in 2017 and work on transformation projects. Alexander coordinates Big Data efforts in terms of internal and external monetization and interaction with key partners. He is a member of the GSMA Chief Strategy Officers Group, along with 30 leading strategists in the global telecoms industry.

The structure of the HR function at MegaFon will remain as before and will report directly to the CEO.
